ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΟ του Καλλιτέχνη - The Artist BIO

Ο Νίκος Μακαρούνας γεννήθηκε στην Ελευσίνα το 1964. Από μικρός είχε το δικό του φαντασιακό κόσμο και πάντα προσπαθούσε να τον ταιριάξει με αυτόν της κοινής λογικής της ευρύτερης κοινωνίας. Να κοινωνικοποιηθεί , να επικοινωνεί με τον τρόπο των πολλών. Με τα χρόνια ανακάλυψε ότι το πρόβλημα του δεν ήταν μόνο δικό του, αλλά και πολλών άλλων που συνήθως τους κατέτασσαν στον "περιθωριακό" κοινωνικά χώρο, που επονόμασαν "καλλιτεχνικό".

Σε ηλικία περίπου 17ετών ,βρέθηκε να σπουδάζει Μαθηματικά στο Πανεπιστήμιο (1981-1986) . Αφού ολοκλήρωσε τις σπουδές του στο χώρο αυτό, αισθάνθηκε ότι κάτι του έλειπε στην νεανική υπαρξιακή του προσπάθεια, για καλύτερη επικοινωνία με το γύρω του κόσμο. Θεώρησε ότι ήταν πλέον καιρός να σπουδάσει και τις εικαστικές τέχνες. Συνέχισε έτσι τις σπουδές του, στην Ανώτατη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών της Αθήνας (1991-1996).

 Η Τέχνη του τελικά, επηρεάστηκε από το συνδυασμό των σπουδών του. Έτσι το 1996 η διπλωματική του εργασία με τίτλο "ΧΑΟΣ ΤΑΞΗ" είναι εμπνευσμένη από τις επιστημονικές  θεωρίες του Χάους .Μία εγκατάσταση-σύμπαν με επιμέρους έργα όπως το "Μεσοδιάστημα" ,η "Χοάνη" κα.  Στη επόμενη περίοδο έρχεται το "Μαύρο Κουτί-Αβεβαιότητες" ,παράλληλα με το βιβλίο "το Τέλος της Βεβαιότητας" του βέλγου επιστήμονα Ιλία Πρικοζίν .  Στην μεγάλη αυτή ενότητα έργων που συνεχίζεται ακόμα και σήμερα, ένα μαύρο κουτί-μήτρα περιέχει μικρά σχεδόν επίπεδα μαύρα σχήματα. Με την κάθε φορά επανατοποθέτηση τους στο λευκό τοίχο-χώρο, παράγονται νέες εικόνες-έργα.

Το ίδιο μαύρο κουτί, παράγει κάθε φορά και κάτι νέο. Όλες οι εικόνες περιέχουν την απροσδιοριστία, είναι μεταξύ σύνθεσης και αποσύνθεσης ,βεβαιότητας και αβεβαιότητας.

Στα τελευταία του έργα είναι περισσότερο επηρεασμένος όπως δηλώνει, από την ευρέως παρεξηγημένη "Κυνική θεώρηση των πραγμάτων" , παρά από την παλαιότερη "Πλατωνική" . Στην ενότητα έργων  "Without Proposition", τα στοιχεία της ειρωνείας και του παιχνιδιού είναι εμφανή. Με υλικά των έργων, κυρίως πλαστικούς σωλήνες ύδρευσης και αποχέτευσης. Με τη χρήση στο έργο "Κίονας" μηχανής που παράγει  στο χώρο μπουρμπουλήθρες και φωτίζεται με χρωματιστό προβολέα. Το έργο ενεργοποιείται με φωτοκύτταρο στο πέρασμα του θεατή.

Χρησιμοποιεί κατά καιρούς όλα τα υλικά μέσα που θεωρεί κατάλληλα για εκφράσει αυτό που θέλει.  Έτσι άλλοτε ζωγραφίζει ,άλλοτε χρησιμοποιεί plexiglas, άλλοτε video  κλπ.

Θεωρεί ότι ο σύγχρονος καλλιτέχνης δεν πρέπει να προσδιορίζεται από το μέσο που θα χρησιμοποιήσει για να εκφραστεί, αλλά να χρησιμοποιεί οποιοδήποτε μέσο κρίνει ότι θα αποδώσει με καλύτερο τρόπο την ιδέα-συναίσθημα του για το κόσμο γύρω του.

Συνεχίζει να δημιουργεί τα έργα του, όταν και όποτε θεωρεί ότι υπάρχει λόγος.

THE ARTIST'S BIOGRAPHY

 

Nikos Makarounas was born in Elefsina in 1964. From a very young age he would always retreat to his own imaginary world but at the same time he would try to find common ground between his world and the world of reason of the wider society. To socialize, to communicate in the way of the many.

Upon completing his first degree in Mathematics at University (1981-1986), he continued his studies in the Athens School of Fine Arts (1991-1996).  Since then, all his artistic creation has been influenced by the combination of his studies.  His artwork is determined by a philosophical background in direct conversation with mathematics, logic and its causalities and always comes back to the concepts of the part and the whole,  to systems of universal processes.

In 1996 his graduation thesis titled CHAOS and ORDER is inspired by the scientific theories of Chaos. An installation-creation of a Universe  with individual works such as "The Space In-Between" and "Funnel"  consists of black elements that float in space, allowing the viewer to walk around them  and become part of the work.

 In the next period comes the Black Box-Uncertainties, alongside the book "The End of Certainty" by the Belgian physical chemist and Nobel Laureate Ilya Prigogine. In this great group of artworks that has continued up to the present, a black box-matrix contains small almost flat black shapes. Each time they are repositioned on the white wall -space, new images, new works are produced. The same black box produces something anew every time. All images entail indeterminacy, and oscillate between synthesis and decay, certainty and uncertainty.

In his latest works he is more influenced, as he states, from the widely misunderstood "Cynical View of things". In his work Without Proposition the elements of irony and play are obvious. With building materials of little value, mainly plastic water and drainage pipes. In the "Column" (installation), the interplay between the viewer and the artwork takes place through the use of a machine that produces soap bubbles in the air and is illuminated with a colored projector activated by the passerby.

Nikos Makarounas constantly examines the value and the role that various materials and media play in his personal artistic creation. Painting, video art, sculpture, installations, along with the use of different materials such as plexiglas, marine plywood create new associations in different artworks.
